Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Ongoing support

Can I be left alone?

No

Ghost has the potential to be left home on her own in the future but as she was a stray we are unsure if she has lived in a house before. Once settled she can be left for short periods and with training, the time gradually increased.

Do I have any medical conditions?

Existing conditions

A lump, currently under observation

Who I can live with

Yes

Can I live with cats?

Additional information

Ideally Ghost needs to be rehomed to a family with an existing, well socialised and friendly dog. She's a very nervous lady and another dog helps to slowly bring Ghost out of her shell and to build her confidence.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

Due to her very worried behaviour, Ghost needs to live with a quiet family with minimal visitors and no young visiting children. She can live with teenagers and over, no more than 2-3 people in the home and please be prepared to come to the charity to meet her several times, allowing her to start to recognise you before taking her home.

What type of environment would suit me?

Ghost would like to live in a very quiet area, away from too many people, busy town centres and noisy areas. She is easily spooked by new environments and if she does get scared, she will run. A private, 6ft fenced garden is ideal for Ghost. She can enjoy off lead zoomies but in a safe and secure place.

About Ghost

Ghost must be allowed to settle and feel comfortable in her own time, allowing her to built a bond with the whole family and to start to trust again. She was bought into us as a stray and we have no knowledge of her background or what potentially she has gone through.

Things to note

She will play with soft squeaky toys on her own but is not confident enough to play with them with people yet. It would be great to see her playing more comfortably with toys and knowing how much fun they can be.
Ghost will be a little challenging when first home but once she starts to settle and you see her true personality appear, it will be so rewarding watching her grow in confidence and to discover the world is not such a scary place to be.
